Lisbon city council has announced the launch of the municipality’s “whistleblowing channel”, which allows people to report “non-compliance with ethical principles and values or illegal situations in municipal activity, including corruption”, explains Lusa. The channel is “another important step in the area of transparency and the fight against corruption,” said the council in a statement, adding that the new tool is available to everyone working in the local authority and in Lisbon’s municipal companies, and to any individual who deals directly or indirectly with the municipality.
