PROFESSOR ANTÓNIO Carmona Rodrigues, vice president of Lisbon Câmara, recently held a conference to honour 60 Latin American Students who will complete a programme for future leaders.
The programme is promoted by the Carolina Foundation, with support from the Rafael del Bolt Foundation, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, NH Hotels and the Santander Group. This stock market course, created by the Carolina Foundation, is in its third year. The 60 best Latin American students are selected for the course (in fact there are 48 Latin Americans, two Portuguese and ten Spanish). The programme professionally trains these students, who one day may hold positions of significant responsibility in their respective countries.
The course hopes to offer the students not only a better understanding of stocks and shares but also that of the Lisbon Municipality and its future over the next decade. Bob Hughes
