Lisbon cabbies arrested over alleged ‘speculation’

Eight taxi drivers are to be presented before public prosecutors this week following their arrests in Lisbon for ‘speculation’ (meaning overcharging clients). Say reports, some of the men “have a history of committing the same crime”. While the case remains under consideration, the drivers’ cabs have been ‘seized’ to prevent them committing further crimes. This was the second batch of arrests by Lisbon’s PSP. Seven cabbies were arrested in December.
