LISBON IS ranked 14th in the list of the best European cities for company location, an improvement of two positions on last year’s list. The annual ranking is based on the European Cities Monitor Study carried out by Cushman & Wakefield Healy & Baker.
The Portuguese capital overtook both Manchester in the UK and Sweden’s Stockholm this year. The top four positions in the ranking remained unaltered: London (1), Paris (2), Frankfurt (3) and Brussels (4). Jumping into fifth place this year was Barcelona, overtaking Amsterdam. Still in front of Lisbon are Madrid, Berlin, Munich, Zurich, Milan, Dublin and Prague.
The study is judged over 12 categories including access to markets, clients, transport networks, quality of telecommunications, languages spoken, staff costs and cost of office space.
