Lisbon airport

LISBON’S NEW airport at Campo de Tiro de Alcochete will not lead to the construction of a supporting city, says the President of the regional development commission (CCDR), Fonseca Ferreira.

“We will reserve an area around the airport for logistical activities and some other industry and housing but I don’t see a city being built,” said Fonseca Ferreia on Tuesday. “Activities will be maintained in Lisbon.”

The President of the CCDR also said that the new airport will provide “new opportunities” for the Península de Setúbal and Lezíria do Tejo areas.
