Lisbon Accident and Emergency departments are suddenly overflowing with people coming in off the streets with respiratory viruses. SIC reports that various hospitals are channelling people to Lisbon’s Santa Maria where waiting times have consequently reached 10 hours. This is all happening in the context that the first ‘Covid update’ meeting at Infarmed for many months is due to convene on Friday. Public health doctors have made no bones of the fact they are dissatisfied that combat measures have been drastically reduced.
