LIFE GUARDS started, on June 1, supervising over 500 beaches in Portugal for the summer season.
The first day was marked by a showing of all the resources available to guarantee the public’s safety on Santo André beach in Santiago do Cacém, Alentejo.
A total of 1,200 life guards and 441 maritime police will have at their disposal quad bikes, jeeps and jet skis. Beaches will be supervised in July and August from 10am until 8pm.
