German supermarket chain Lidl has opened a new supermarket in Boliqueime, Loulé – its 15th supermarket in the Algarve.
Representing an €8 million investment, the supermarket was built from scratch and with an environmentally-friendly ethos.
It boasts “modern low-consumption equipment and LED lighting”, which is in line with the company’s aim to reduce its environmental footprint and contribute to a “more sustainable planet”.
The 1,400sqm supermarket has also created 23 new jobs, bringing the total number of people employed by Lidl in the Algarve to 370.
