Less than 800 in hospital with Covid-19 in Portugal: 1,571 recoveries in 24-hours

Five days into Portugal’s slow deconfinement and DGS health bulletins continue to show a fall in the number of new cases, falls in people being treated in hospital, and a new reduction in numbers in intensive care. While 11 people have died in the last 24 hours, 1,571 have been deemed ‘fully recovered’ from traces of positive infection. New cases are still being led by Lisbon (+223) and, at +568 are marginally higher than the +485 registered yesterday. 816, 623 people in Portugal have contracted Covid-19 in one form or other since the start of the pandemic in Portugal;16,754 have sadly died, the overwhelming majority of them seniors over the age of 70 (roughly 14,500 of the total).
