Lemon Tree Masters raises nearly €7,000 for ACCA

Nearly €7,000 was raised for children’s charity ACCA during the sixth Lemon Tree Masters golf competition, which was held on Saturday (June 13) at the Laranjal golf course in Quinta do Lago.

The event was organised by Robert Armour, the owner of the Lemon Tree restaurant in Almancil, and attended by 76 golf players.

The weather was great for golf, with blue skies all the way from the 8.30am start until 3.30pm, when players enjoyed drinks and a barbecue lunch.

This year’s winning duo, Richard Woolard and Sandy Lauder, finished first with 44 points (21 back nine) and won a trophy as well as MacGregor golf bags, courtesy of Florida Golf.

Don and Debbie Swanson were a close second with 44 points (20 back nine), followed by Diana and Nigel Collins with 43 points (22 back nine).

Since the event was launched, it has already raised around €40,000 for ACCA.

As a “show of appreciation” for Armour’s “dedication”, ACCA members Jenny Harrison and Sharon Henderson presented him with a framed photograph of the Laranjal golf course.
