LED lit supermarket

A new energy saving lighting system installed in the Intermarché supermarket in Messines has been proven to have reduced the lighting energy consumption in the store by 20%.

The supermarket was the first in Portugal and the third in Europe to be fully equipped with an LED lighting system from Unique Lights 12 months ago, and since then the energy consumption has been monitored.

Serge Rossingol, the owner of the supermarket, said: “With the rising costs of energy, I started an internal investigation on how to save energy within the business.

“I had already heard about the new LED lighting techniques available and decided to investigate the installation of these lights for the supermarket and chose Unique Lights to undertake the process as they have had experience throughout Europe with these kinds of projects.”
