Professional tango dancers will be taking to the stage at the Teatro das Figuras in Faro on January 17 and 18 during the Faro Tango Fest.
Dancers Milton Homann and Romina Godoy, accompanied by singer Mariel Martinez and other musicians, will be delighting the audience with the show ‘Perfume de Tango’ from 9.30pm on the 18th.
The artists will demonstrate the evolution of Argentine Tango from its remote origins in Latin America in the late 1800s to how it is today. Entrance costs €10.
Organised by Ibérica Eventos, the Faro Tango Fest also offers members of the public the chance to learn to dance tango during a two-day workshop. The public can then show off their newly-acquired dance skills at a tango dance party, called a ‘Milonga’, which will take place after the show on Saturday in the foyer of the theatre. It starts at around 11.30pm and entrance is free.
