Jorge Coelho, a former Minister of Public Works, has announced that “for personal reasons” he can no longer continue as Chairman of the Executive Committee (CEO) of international construction group Mota-Engil.
Replacing Jorge Coelho as CEO is Gonçalo Moura Martins, who was deputy-chairman at Mota-Engil and has been with the group for 23 years.
Jorge Coelho left his post on Monday this week, according to a statement from the group, which operates in 20 countries, with Angola, Mozambique and Brazil being its main markets.
Founded in Amarante in 1946 by Manuel António da Mota, Mota-Engil developed over the years to offer a wide range of activities related to engineering and construction, environment and services (waste, water, ports and logistics, multi-services and energy), transport infrastructure concessions (roads, bridges and undergrounds), and mining.
