Lawyer of young Portuguese student facing accusations of terrorism says “this was not terrorism”

Jorge Pracana, the lawyer defending João R – the 18-year-old student currently in preventive custody after his alleged ‘plan for a massacre’ was flagged by authorities (click here) – claims accusations of terrorism are spurious, as there is no indication that the young man had ideological motives. Mr Pracana will be visiting his client once the period of ‘quarantine’ in the psychiatric wing of Caxias prison hospital is over, but tells reporters he is in good hands, in that the facility is one of “reference in the area of mental health in Portugal”
