Law to expose paedophiles

Justice Minister Paula Teixeira da Cruz is planning to implement a law by the end of the year to allow authorities to reveal the identity of convicted paedophiles. The minister’s announcement has already garnered the support of the Parents’ Associations Confederation (CONFAP). “All measures taken to prevent paedophiles from having contact with children are beneficial,” said its president Albino de Almeida.According to the minister’s proposal, both the police authorities and schools would have access to details of sexual predators residing in their area. Details would be revealed to the entire community in cases of multiple sex offences against children.
