LISBON’S 100-year-old yellow Lavra lift is operating once again after the service was stopped for five months.
The oldest lift in Lisbon, which carries 280,000 passengers a year, was taken out of service because a building on its route was in danger of collapsing.
The lift, inaugurated in 1884, resumed normal service on Friday last week after the building in Calçada do Lavra was made safe.
