Algarve offers some of the best late-deal summer holidays in the world, according to British newspaper The Guardian. In a recent round-up of the Best Summer Holiday Deals for 2012, writer Gemma Bowes highlighted the western Algarve, still “relatively unspoilt”, and its towns Lagos (“walled town with some good beaches”), Burgau (“white-washed”), Sagres (“popular with surfers and campervanners”), Aljezur (“good for families or for surfing”) and “charming, craft-making market town” Monchique. Other late-deal destinations in Portugal mentioned in the article were Porto and the Azores.
