Last chance

The fifth and latest attempt to hold presidential elections at Portimão FC failed. Incredibly head of the general assembly Jaime Dias refused to validate the last minute candidature of former leader João Sintra and the exercise is due to be repeated on Wednesday of next week.

Already the last league club to return to ‘work’, Portimonense need to resolve the leadership issue in order to remain in the professional game. The reinstatement of Sintra would probably also herald the return of former coach Amilcar Fonseca. With the first official game scheduled for the last day of this month, the club would at this moment struggle to field eleven players.
