Largest “all-inclusive” 5-star resort opens in Alvor: an investment of €50 million

Portugal’s largest all-inclusive 5-star resort – the first to have been built from scratch – has opened in Alvor, representing an investment of €50 million and creating 300 jobs.

The Pestana Blue Alvor – the Pestana group’s first project of this kind – is focused on giving families the ‘time of their lives’ in a 12-hectare space in which accommodation and facilities are surrounded by “generous green areas and where only electric vehicles circulate” in the interests of maintaining air quality and reducing pollution.

The luxurious resort has opened under the hotel group’s ‘Say no to Plastic’ campaign which sets out to ‘reduce the use of non-recyclable plastic by six tons within the first six months of operation’.

Pestana Blue Alvor is located ‘in the heart of Alvor, a short walk from the iconic Praia dos Três Irmãos.

Says the blurb, its green spaces merge with Pestana Alto Golf, the 18-hole course designed in the 80s by Sir Henry Cotton.

But more to the point, this is a haven designed for people who don’t have to make any major decisions: everything is to hand – from a choice of restaurants and bars, to various different pools, kids clubs, multi-purpose playing fields, a paddle tennis court and Spa, equipped with Turkish bath and indoor swimming pool.

Everything has been conceived for “perfect holidays” with the Pestana Blue Alvor’s hashtag being #The time of your life.
