The Lions Clube de Loulé’s last charity sale in December raised 793 euros for the EXISTIR charity, an organisation that helps disadvantaged people in the Loulé area.
The next sale, at the Centro Communitário in Almancil, will be on February 25, from 9.30am until noon. Good quality used clothes, linen, shoes, bric-a-brac and books will be on sale, admission is free and refreshments will be available.
The Clube presented EXISTIR with a cheque for 3,000 euros in November 2006 and, on March 25, another 3,000 euros will be presented to the charity by the governor of the Portuguese Lions Clube, Vitor Melo. However, the number of donated items for the sales has led to a storage problem. The present storage facility is not adequate and the Clube is in urgent need of larger premises with the possibility of developing them into a shop.
If you can help with this or have time to support the Lions with their fundraising events call or fax Bruce Allen on 282 444 874.
