Established in 2013, Laranjal Golf Club has already made an impression on the community scene, showing its commitment to helping local causes.
For the past three years, the club has held an annual Members’ Invitation Day, raising a high level of funding for their chosen charities.
Sponsors this year included Alan Shearer, Blevins Franks, Candilamp, FIAAL, Fine Dining, Medal, Prime Wine and SGQL, in support of children’s charity ACCA and its Christmas Angels programme which this year ensured that more than 1,500 youngsters will wake up on Christmas Day to a gift from Santa.
Laranjal’s event, which resulted in a €14,300 contribution to the Angels’ coffers (to which a generous club member added €700, bringing the total to €15,000), included golf for 100 in a shot-gun start, with support from SGQL, and a dinner followed by dancing and an auction at The Shack in Quinta do Lago for 150 club members and guests.
