PORTIMÃO’S CENTRO de Línguas, Cultura e Comunicação (CLCC) will be holding its first ever Language and Culture Fair on May 27, from 3pm to 9pm. The event aims to demonstrate the importance of languages, particularly for those living in a multicultural society and tourist area like the Algarve. Different ways of teaching and learning, as well as an insight into the cultures of various countries, will be presented. On the day, the CLCC will be presenting its language courses and summer programme.
There will be games, a treasure hunt, a quiz on different countries and another on the topic of football. All the games will be presented in the three most spoken languages in the Algarve: Portuguese, English and German. The entertainment programme includes a performance by Afonso Dias, singer and performer of poems in Portuguese.
Exhibitors at the fair will include cultural institutes and associations, foreign schools, newspapers and bookshops.
Last but not least, there will be food to taste from many different countries including English pies, Spanish tapas, German sausages and potato salads, Russian solyanka, Italian antipasti, Dutch and Oriental snacks.
More information can be found on the CLCC website, www.clcc.pt, or by calling Angela Schulz-Henke on 282 181 604 or 282 430 250.
