A landmark case against the Attorney General has been delivered to the Supreme Tribunal this week, backed by former Attorney Generals. The case has been drawn up by the Syndicate of Magistrates of the Public Ministry (SMMP) who object to a directive demanding that ‘high-profile investigations’ be ‘communicated to the hierarchy’. Says the SMMP, the directive translates into the Attorney General’s Office having the power to stop investigations into politicians and material related to the management of the public sector (click here).
