Lagos Council is in the process of launching a project to set up several free WiFi hotspots throughout the municipality.
Three access points will be installed in Lagos (the historical centre, the Anel Verde park and the garden near the Júlio Dantas school) and another 10 in Luz, Espiche, Almádena, Bensafrim, Barão de São João and Odiáxere.
The goal is to facilitate internet access at a time when “long-distance communications via the internet are becoming a strategic factor in terms of competitiveness and social interaction,” says the council.
