The Lagos Live Science Centre (Centro de Ciência Viva de Lagos) is helping produce protective face shields for health professionals in the Algarve, having recently donated 60 to health centres in Lagos and 20 to Portimão Hospital.
The science centre started producing the support structures for the face shields on March 21, in collaboration with the Project 3D Mask Portugal, which aims to get this protective equipment to those in need.
“Our two 3D printers are printing non-stop at the house of one of our team members,” the CCVL said in a Facebook post.
Citizens or companies interested in joining the cause can help by using their own 3D printer to produce the support structures or CNC machine to produce the shields.
As the centre says, “everyone is welcome to help us with this project”.
