A Summer Garden Party fundraiser for the 40-strong Escola de Dança de Lagos medal-winning dance team is taking place on Saturday, June 10 in a private garden in Torre, Lagos, from 2.30pm to 6.30pm. The aim is to help these talented youngsters on their road to Germany for the Dance World Cup Finals at the end of the month.
This is the third time hostess Mandi Keen has opened her garden to the dance school and parties are often praised for their informality while also being an opportunity to watch a presentation by the pupils.

Meanwhile, the last show of the school year, called ‘Caleidoscópia de Dança’, will take place from June 15 to 17 at the Cultural Centre in Lagos from 7.30pm each evening.
During the performances, Professora Nina Minkova will show the progress that has been made in classical ballet and stagecraft, with even the youngest members in the school stepping up to take centre-stage in solos within carefully crafted scenes from the classical repertory, Professor Ivan Radovani will be presenting contemporary, Professor Fénix with hip hop, Professora Margaret Marques performs oriental and Professora Marina Khametova will be presenting vibrant character dances.
These will be the last public performances of some of the competition pieces before the team leave for Germany.
