Lagos Câmara is inviting everyone to take part in the popular annual sea dip party, Festa do Banho 29, on August 29.
The traditional event involves groups of people taking a swim in the sea at midnight and is one which the council has cherished for decades.
Local residents and visitors to the area are again being encouraged to put on their bathing costumes – if possible one from years past – and keep the annual event alive by joining in the event on one of the many beaches of Lagos.
People of all ages, including families, gather on the beach, play the guitar, light bonfires and enjoy late night picnics.
Musical entertainment and other activities, such as a parade of vintage bathing costumes (11.45pm), are scheduled to take place at Cais da Solaria in Lagos from 7pm.
Lagos’s close neighbour Praia da Luz is also joining in the fun of Banho 29, and will hold several events along the Avenida dos Pescadores from 9pm with DJ Tony playing music from midnight to 2am.
