Lagos mayor Julio Barroso has met with residents of Praia da Luz who are concerned with the recent erection of a mobile phone mast.
Following the meeting on February 25, local resident Luís Cardoso told the Algarve Resident: “We discussed the situation and our worries about the mast and the radiation, to which the mayor listened.”
A spokesman from Lagos Câmara said: “The mayor agreed during the meeting with residents that he would try and meet with representatives from the company responsible for placing the mast to ask if it can be relocated because of the number of complaints that have been received by the Câmara.”
Luís Cardoso added: “We will wait two or three weeks to see what happens, but if the mast is not moved, we will take the matter to court.”
