Lagos Council has joined citizens’ movement ‘Unidos Contra o Desperdício’ (United Against Waste).
As the name suggests, the movement aims to fight food waste by raising awareness and finding ways of making the most out of products and meals that would otherwise be thrown away.
Says the movement, it is “irrational” from an economic point of view and “unfair” from a social and environmental standpoint that 30% of all food produced ends up in the rubbish bin.
