Lagos council has just spent €450,000 on four new vehicles, due to the advanced age of the borough’s fleet.
The most expensive were two refuse trucks (around €150,000 each) and a schoolbus (€94,000). The fourth vehicle was a ‘backhoe’ to be used on greenspaces.
Said the council in a statement, the investments will go towards “improving the environmental quality of the town” – an issue that has been paramount since mayoress Joaquina Matos took office.
