Lagos goes green

Lagos Municipality will be celebrating World Environment Day with various activities for people of all ages on June 4, 6 and 7.

Included is a bird watching camping trip on June 4 from 9.30am when birdwatchers will have the chance to see various species of birds during a tour that starts at Ponta da Piedade and finishes at Praia do Camilo.

The programme also features exhibitions dedicated to various environmental issues, awareness activities on the beach, games, surf lessons and beach ashtray distribution.

A spokesman from Lagos Câmara said: “This set of initiatives draws the attention of residents and visitors to the importance of preserving the environment through the adoption of a more responsible behaviour by everyone.”
