Lagos Dance School’s end-of-year show ‘Brisa de Amor’ (Love is in the Air) will take place at the town’s cultural centre this Thursday, Friday and Saturday (June 16-18) from 7.30pm.
“From the amorous advances of a young gypsy to his gal, to a bevy of Belarusian beauties vying for the attention of the eligible bachelor; and from a gravity-defying Israeli wedding dance to a duet of dancing dolls, the show will contain the customary excitement and colour with the added electricity of ‘girl meets boy’,” says school spokesperson Carolyn Ellison.
There will be the “usual wide range of ages and styles, but this show will feature ambitious suites of dances based on the classical repertoire of Coppélia and Sleeping Beauty, never before seen at Lagos’ cultural centre,” she added.
Tickets for the show cost €10. For reservations, contact 915812055.
Meantime, the team of 15 dancers from the Lagos Dance School who were picked to represent Portugal at the 2016 Dance World Cup – which will take place in Jersey, Channel Islands, UK between June 25 and July 2 – are still hard at work trying to raise funds for their journey.
Their latest fundraiser was the Summer Garden Party in Odiáxere on June 10.
