Lagos’ creative hub holds Open Day

Lagos’s creative hub LAC (Laboratory of Creative Activities) will be organising an Open Day event this weekend (January 15-16) at its premises in the town’s old prison. The goal is to “introduce people to the creative work carried out by LAC’s resident artists”.

On Friday, visitors will be able to enjoy an art exhibition featuring works by local artists A. Pedro Correia, Jorge Pereira, Padure, Raymond Dumas, Ricardo Lopes Sara Navarro and Stefan Osnowski. At 9.30pm, there will be musical performances by Prio and Hilaria Kramer, Trio Filipe Sequeira, José Santos and Ricardo Lopes, Duo Ouro Branco and Les Rockeurs.

Saturday will include three new attractions, including puppet show ‘O Caçador’ by João Costa, an experimental dance session by Marion Bedbur, and a painting and drawing event led by Carla Ribeiro.

Finally, LAC’s resident bands Pulso, The Quest, Projecto 103 and Prayers of Sanity will be playing from 9.30pm.

Admission is free.
