Lagos Câmara closed for Carnival

After Monchique Câmara granted its workers a day off on Carnival Tuesday, Lagos Câmara has decided to follow suit. In a statement to the press, the municipal authority said Carnival celebrations are a long-standing tradition in the municipality, and that few people were expected to require the municipal services on February 12. However, cultural spaces such as the municipal museum, the fort and the Slave Market would remain open to the public.
