I would like to thank everyone who has answered the call to help the Lagos Bombeiros. There were many promises to donate directly into the Fund, but here we encountered a small problem. A number of banks have not responded to the written instructions and are waiting for you to contact them direct. I will make no comment here on the bureaucratic side of life in this country!
If you have sent your slip, could you please check your bank statement to see if the money has been transferred and, if not, could you speak to the bank to find out why?
Only a small number of donations got through and these appear to be the ones where people went into the bank to set up the transfer – so please chase your bank to action your request.
One batch of tear-off slips had an extra digit in the account number, so that also needs rectifying.
