Lagoa’s Fatacil attracts 200,000

Last day of the fair was the busiest

Organisers are celebrating another successful edition of Fatacil, which attracted around 200,000 people between August 18 and 27 to Lagoa.

According to Lagoa Council, the number of visitors is “very similar” to the 2019 edition before the Covid-19 pandemic.

The last day of the fair which featured Fado singer Mariza as the musical headliner was the busiest, having registered over 23,000 visitors.

This year’s edition also registered a new record in online ticket sales, which the council says it has been investing in to avoid long queues at the fairground’s entrances.

“In an event the size of FATACIL, which every day welcomes thousands of visitors, it is fundamental to provide a safe, fluid and incident-free entrance to the fair,” the council says.

Lagoa is already preparing for the 43rd edition of FATACIL, which will take place from August 16 to 25, 2024, with “the same goal as always: to do more and better.

“After assessing the positive results of the 42nd edition of FATACIL, I want to thank everyone who made this edition possible, especially the municipality’s employees from various areas, for their dedication and unparalleled professionalism, so that we can once again say that we had the best FATACIL ever,” said Luís Encarnação, Mayor of Lagoa.
