Performance to take place on April 30 at Carlos do Carmo auditorium
Lagoa will celebrate World Dance Day with a performance by the Quorum Ballet which will bring the classic tale of Romeo and Juliet to Carlos do Carmo auditorium on Saturday, April 30 at 7pm.
“This new production is born from the desire to continue working the great classics, following up on the work carried out with Swan Lake and The Rite of Spring by (choreographer) Daniel Cardoso, relating them to today’s life and society,” the event’s promotional blurb reads.
The show will aim to “challenge the centrality of Romeo and Juliet, who will be multiplied in a contemporary vision in an arena where everyone without exception becomes Romeo and Juliet,” it adds.
The Quorum Ballet is a contemporary dance company founded in 2005 by its artistic director, resident choreographer and dancer Daniel Cardoso.
Tickets for its performance of Romeo and Juliet cost €8 and can be purchased online at www.ticketline.sapo.pt or at Fnac, Worten and the ticket offices at the auditorium, the São José convent and Lagoa’s Balcão Único. A 20% discount is available for holders of Lagoa’s cultural passport, social card and Rota do Petisco 2021 passport.
