Lagoa Jazz Fest returns to Sítio das Fontes
Jazz fans do not have to wait much longer for the 18th edition of Lagoa Jazz Fest, an event which every year brings musicians from all over the world to the idyllic Sítio das Fontes in Estômbar.
Taking place between July 21 and 23, the event is promising to be an unmissable event for anyone who loves jazz and will be in the Algarve at the time.
The Algarve Jazz Orchestra will be the headlining performer on the event’s opening night (July 21), performing alongside American jazz singer Jane Monheit on the main stage.
The music festival will continue the following evening (July 22) with ‘De Acordeão para Acordeão’ (From Accordion to Accordion), a duo comprising accordionists Vincent Peirani and João Barradas, followed by the Suite Nordeste Trio, featuring João Ventura (piano, keyboard and vocals), Júnior Maceió (alto, soprano, and baritone saxophones, flute, and aerophone), and Rogério Pitomba (drums and percussion).
Bringing the event to a close (July 23) on the main stage will be Camille Bertault 5teto, a quintet led by French singer Camille Bertault.
There will also be a lounge area where local and national musicians will perform every evening, with Jorge Soares (guitar and vocals), Bony Godoy (electric bass) and Jorge Carrilho (drums) taking the stage on July 21; Allyson Garrido (vocals) and Fernando de Castro Neves (guitar) providing entertainment on July 22 and Genoveva Faísca (vocals) and Carlos Santos (keyboard) performing on the final night.
Tickets for each day of the event cost €12, with a 20% discount for holders of Lagoa’s cultural passport, social card, or a passport of the 2022 edition of Rota do Petisco, and can be purchased at the usual locations in Lagoa or on the day of the event at the venue. They can also be purchased online.
