Lagoa residents can now vote in the borough’s ‘Orçamento Participativo’ (OP), which gives people a say in what they feel needs doing in their town.
There are 11 projects selected after a series of meetings involving councillors and borough residents.
Voting can take place from now until July 18 at the borough’s parish councils and Ferragudo’s post office (CTT).
The OP has a budget of €300,000, so this will limit the number of projects that can be taken on.
Here are the choices. Residents can vote for two of the following:
• P1- Purchase of a van to support the population of Porches
• P4- Construction of a pumptrack (bicycle) circuit in Bela Vista, Parchal
• P6- Placement of shading at EB1 school (front and side of building) in Carvoeiro
• P7- Placement of shading over EB1 Carvoeiro school’s sports field (back of building)
• P8- Purchase of van for Lagoa’s Senior Centre
• P11- Levelling of pavements on Lagoa’s Rua Afonso Costa
• P12- Construction of zebra crossings and speed bumps on Rua Maria Eugénia Dias Ferreira, Lagoa
• P13- Renovation/repaving of Rua 25 de Abril in Estômbar until the end of Túnel das Marinhas
• P15- Construction of urban park in Bela Vista, Parchal.
• P16- Renovation of Estômbar’s stone wall with a new coating
• P17- Construction of a roundabout at Largo 1º de Maio in Estômbar
