The Philharmonic Bands Meeting filled the streets of the municipality with music and entertainment last Saturday, January 6.
Lagoa’s City Council promoted a Philharmonic Bands Meeting last Saturday, January 6, as part of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the creation of the municipality, filling the streets of the municipality with music and entertainment.
Philharmonic music was thus included in the municipality’s 250th anniversary celebrations with the Civil Bands Festival, which toured the municipality and ended with a meeting of the bands at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium in Lagoa
The musical entertainment started early, with street performances taking place early in the morning in various locations in the municipality, such as Porches, Ferragudo, Parchal, Praia do Carvoeiro, Mexilhoeira da Carregação and Estômbar.
In the afternoon, the street entertainment headed to Lagoa, culminating with the Philharmonic Bands Meeting at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium.
The bands that participated in the street entertainment and Philharmonic Bands Meeting were the Sociedade Filarmónica Portimonense, Sociedade Filarmónica Silvense and Sociedade Filarmónica de Serpa bands.
This was yet another initiative – in addition to the hundreds of initiatives that have taken place over the last year – marking the 250th anniversary of the creation of the Lagoa municipality.
The celebrations of this milestone started on January 16, 2023, with the last event scheduled for January 16 of this year, with a show at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium.
