Lagoa father runs over son’s classmate

A father in Lagoa is being investigated for having run down one of his son’s classmates.
GNR police are trying to determine whether the running over was intentional or just accidental.
Facts established are that the victim, aged 13, was run over right in front of the school premises in Estômbar, in the borough of Lagoa, on Friday afternoon last week. He had just that moment come out of the school building.
According to Correio da Manhã newspaper, “some of the pupils said there had been problems between the victim of the incident and the 12-year-old son of the driver. There are even those who say the son was a victim of school bullying”.
Contacted by the newspaper, the school administration simply confirmed that the case was being investigated by the GNR.
Meantime, the 13-year-old victim has already returned to school.
Bullying became topical in Portugal last month when the tragic case of a 15-year-old Braga student who hanged himself because of school-taunts hit the headlines.
