Lagoa cuts water supply red-tape

Lagoa council has given itself a pat on the back for cutting red-tape in water supply contracts.
In a press release, the municipal authority said the move is “an advantage” for everyone.
The measure is part of a whole modernisation process that encourages simplification across the board.
From now on, anyone wanting to sign up for a water supply will be considered a client simply on the filling out of a special contract form and the presentation of identification papers.
The new procedure is expected to mean shorter waiting lists, lower costs (as in the past supply contracts involved endless papers), and increased availability among municipal workers to provide a more personalised and careful service to clients.
The changes will even benefit the municipality, says the release, as it won’t need so much space for filing.
Lagoa’s efforts to remove bureaucracy from day-to-day council business is aimed at “creating a higher quality of customer care by giving value to the services provided by the municipal authority,” concluded the release.
