Lagoa will celebrate ‘Dia de Reis’ (Epiphany) on Wednesday, January 6 with a special visit from the Three Wise Men and ‘Janeiras’ – traditional Portuguese carols sung by locals.
Festivities begin at 3pm in front of the municipal auditorium, where the Three Wise Men will begin their journey to Largo 5 de Outubro to see Baby Jesus, accompanied by the Rancho Folclórico do Calvário which will perform ‘Janeiras’ along the way.
Celebrations end at 8pm with regional treats like cheese, sausages and wines, and a final taste of Bolo Rei (Christmas cake) until next year.
