Lagoa has announced a series of online concerts between March 21 and April 4 to celebrate Holy Week.
“Although we are still facing restrictive measures due to the pandemic, Lagoa Council will celebrate Holy Week with a cultural programme featuring several concerts which will be streamed on the council’s social media pages,” it said.
The first concert is scheduled for Sunday, March 21 at 4pm and will feature Diana Tzonkova on violin, Ercole De Conca on double bass and Emanuela Nicoli on harp as they interpret pieces by Antonio Vivaldi and Astor Piazzolla at Estômbar’s Matriz church.
On Friday, March 26, the Quinteto Sull’a Corda will be accompanied by soprano singer Carla Pontes as they interpret Stabat Mater by Luigi Boccherini at Lagoa’s Matriz church.
Last but not least, Lagoa will be hosting the first edition of the ‘Algarve Harp Festival’ with a performance by Helena Madeira who will be showcasing her vast repertoire at 4pm on Sunday, April 4 at Lagoa’s Misericórdia church.
