Under the slogan “They need us”, the União das Freguesias de Lagoa e Carvoeiro (parish union) has launched a campaign to collect food and other essential items for the animals of O Jardim da Aryel animal welfare association and shelter in Lagoa.
All goods collected will be delivered to the association which collects, treats and cares for animals at risk. The initiative runs until December 31, 2022.
Dry and wet food for dogs and cats, cat litter, disposal bags and blankets are some of the items needed.
The Lagoa-Carvoeiro parish union was a pioneer in the “Street Cats” project in 2014 and has thus decided to launch this campaign, “the largest organised” by the parish council. The initiative takes place in Lagoa and Carvoeiro, and products should be delivered to parish council offices (juntas de freguesia).
O Jardim da Aryel association has been particularly affected by the pandemic, which forced the cancellation of several fundraising campaigns.
