Lagoa Câmara has approved a municipal budget of €30.4 million for 2013; this represents a decrease of more than €8 million compared to last year.
In a meeting in December to approve the budget, it was agreed that more than €12 million would be spent on social welfare – a reality across other Algarve câmaras – and around €2.2 million on culture and sport.
Budgetary plans for the six Lagoa parishes were also voted for, with Lagoa parish receiving €125,000, Estombar €111,000, Carvoeiro €87,000, Porches €69,000, Parchal €56,000 and Ferragudo €54,000.
Lagoa parishes saw their budget reduced by nearly €14,000 on last year.
