After taking part in the Earth Hour movement last Saturday, Lagoa Council announced investments of over €5 million to improve the borough’s energy efficiency.
The money has been used to install LED public lighting across the municipality and shift gears towards renewable energies.
“It is very important to take part in the ‘Earth Hour’ to raise awareness. But more important than that are the firm steps we are taking towards preserving planet Earth,” said Lagoa Mayor Luís Encarnação.
