More than 800 euros was raised for the Algarve Oncology Association (AOA) during the Ladies Festival of the Lodge of Discoveries, held at the Tivoli Almansor Hotel in Carvoeiro on March 6.
The Worshipful Master Alun Roberts and his wife Patricia hosted the evening, which was attended by more than 120 guests, and thanked everyone for their generosity.
“It was one of the most successful Ladies Festivals to have been held in recent years,” said Alun Roberts.
The aims and objects of AOA were explained with a printout from the association’s representative Maria de Lurdes, with their future projects as well as their past achievements listed.
“This obviously helped to encourage people to donate to this very worthy cause,” said Alun Roberts.
He added that members of the Lodge of Discoveries hope to raise more than 4,000 euros for charity by the end of the year.
