More than 40 members of the eastern Algarve ladies luncheon club came together to raise money and a smile for Red Nose Day on Wednesday, March 4.
The club bought 50 noses from the charity based in the UK and held a raffle to help raise further funds for the cause.
During the lunch, members told jokes and the mood was light hearted in keeping with the tradition of comic relief.
Member Lin Griffin told the Algarve Resident: “After we ordered the noses, the organisers sent us a letter thanking us for fundraising in the Algarve, which was really lovely. We don´t know exactly how much we have raised yet but 50 pounds alone came from buying the noses.”
The ladies luncheon club was established more than 20 years ago and has over 50 members who meet at different restaurants in the eastern Algarve.
Members of the community of any age and nationality are encouraged to join the club that meets on the first Wednesday of every month.
The next event to be held by the club is a fashion show scheduled for April 1 to be held at the Tavira Gardens.
