It was a great day for the ladies during the Monday crown bowls competition held at the Amendoeira Bowls Club near Alcantarilha on March 22.
Kay Carr and Betty Gray beat off stiff competition from Stuart McKay and Bob Carr (Kay’s husband) in the final, eventually winning by 11-10.
Crown green competitions take place every Monday and Thursday at the Amendoeira Bowls Club. The competitions start at 10am and cost five euros per player to take part. There are also flat green competitions on Friday, also costing five euros.
